Books

So, on my flight to Cleveland over the weekend I read Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Closterman. Great book. It will, I must warn you, not be appreciated by those folks under 26 or over 35. It's, in my humble opinion, a true book to be appreciated by Gen X-ers (I think that's what we're called). Speaking of Gen x-ers, I thought we were supposed to be slackers....what gives. My friends and I are some of the hardest working people I know. We're very ambitious. Could be that we're just so cynical at having seen the things that companies did to our parents that we've become a bit jaded and don't work at a company from "womb to tomb" the way a lot of our parents did. We lost our loyalty as we saw it not reciprocated.

So, Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs is a very good book.
I'm plowing through A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. It's very good also. The story of a 23 year old drug addict. It starts off with him waking up on an airplane, front four teeth broken out, nose broken, and eyes swollen nearly shut. He is unaware of how he got on the plane or where he's going. I'm not done with it yet, but it's a pretty gripping story so far.

My choices in literature have been pretty interesting lately....I'm going to have to think about that and wonder why.....
