Counting Crows
Last night on PBS, they had Counting Crows on Soundstage. They sounded great. Adam looks as though the "salad days" are behind them, but otherwise sounded great. They played "Mr Jones," "Mrs. Potter's Lullaby," "Hangin Around," and many others of their favorites. It was very good. Catch the re-run if you can.
Evidently, the Crows have a Greatest Hits album coming out, that must be what they're playing to support.
Olympics were good last night. They're done with swimming (thankfully). Yes, Michael Phelps you are a great swimmer. No doubt. No one is arguing it. If nothing else, you're bringing even more exposure to a sport which has very poor exposure except every four years when the Olympics occur, and all Americans act as though they know a lot about swimming...they know exactly what NBC tells them and nothing more. Having said that, congratulations to Michael Phelps on his accomplishment. Sincerely, you did great.
There are others, too. Our 4 x 100 women's team looked great last night at the qualifying, winning by a VERY large margin. If they lose, it will have to be to a team that breaks the world record.
Evidently the Men's B-Ball team lost to Argentina, so is guaranteed to not win a Gold medal this year. Ouch. All that talent, and we can't win. Maybe KG had it right by not even showing up.
Women's Soccer had their last hurrah. Great to see that group win another Gold.
Rusty.
