Don't Panic
Ok, so I'm a huge geek. Well, at least I'm not alone.
I went to see The Hitchiker's Guide last night. Alone. I wasn't the only one. I didn't expect to be the only person there alone at the movies, but in general it's not a common thing.
I had read the book(s) a long time ago, probably in middle school. Hadn't really appreciated them that much. When I found out the movie was being made and coming out soon, I bought the book(s) again and re-read them. Great books. Great books.
The movie is good. Graphics are great. Especially the scene when they are travelling through the Earth that is being built. Earth2.
The girl who played Trillian did a wonderful job. Bringing that character to life is kind of interesting. Reading and picturing someone in your mind, then having that person represented by Hollywood.
Zaphod Beeblebrox was obnoxious and arrogant and stupid. He did great.
Scene stealer: Marvin. I love Marvin. His GPP Genuine Person Personality is great. Reminds me of Eeyore. But adds a bit of humor to robots. Typically, robots are without any personality at all. Or, if they do have a personality, it's outgoing, brainy, etc. A great idea to have a manically depressed robot.
