O'Hare

O'Hare airport always has so many emotions for me. Airports in general do, but especially O'Hare. It's the first airport I flew out of my very first flight, and it's the one I use most frequently.
It's notoriously always undergoing major construction. I'm thinking that it's sort of like painting the Golden Gate Bridge. They start at one end, by the time they're finished, it's time to start over again.

Weather's great today. Somewhere around 75 and sunny. Spent the majority of the morning inside working (ugh), but I'm trying to spend the majority of the afternoon enjoying the weather. I'm stuck working through the entire weekend at Big Ugly Blue place, then back to Normal Grind Monday (yes, I know it's a holiday, but I need the money).

I've worked worse places than Big Ugly Blue place. Concern with numbers (and money) over people is what drove me away from there. Not much has changed.

Normal Grind is much better. Still keep a close eye on numbers (and money), but they're not the only thing.

Time flying

Much going on. Too busy to write.

Work's going fine.
So, I was driving to work yesterday and heard Veruca Salt's "Volcano Girls" on the radio. Made me chuckle because it reminded me that I was somewhat slow to remember the name Veruca Salt was the name of the spoiled little brat in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I had some friends who just returned from Italy. Went out with them last night to hear all about the trip. Sounds fantastic. Good food, good wine, good people. What a way to spend a vacation.

I'm going back to visit my family later this month. Not sure how that will go. I think I've put to rest many of the emotions associated with the event, but I'll only know when I get there. I'm flying into O'Hare and renting a car and driving the remainder. That'll give me some time to think about things.

Olympics
Well, the Women's 4 x 100 let me down. Well, they didn't let me down, those things happen when a lot is on the line. The person who jumped onto the scene during the Marathon should be prosecuted in some way. He's done this before, at the British Grand Prix. I saw the guy who was wearing the tutu and jumped off the 3m springboard got punished. I think that's in order.

Humor
Some other interesting, funny things to entertain.

Misc.
Went to the Coast this weekend. Played craps. Yep, nothing quite like the game of craps. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you always have fun.

Hope you're doing ok Trillian.

Rusty.
