Respect
He was a guy who wasn't really educated, but he valued it and passed that on to his sons. He was a mechanic. Learned his trade (and discipline) in the Marine corps.
Encouraged us to stay away from the military and use our minds to make a living (rather than our bodies). He saw way too many supervisors who didn't know the job get hired for much more money and less work than he, simply because they had a degree.
He valued family, time with family.
He was a mechanic, but never hesitated at helping me fix my car and keep it on the road when it would've been best off in the junk yard.
He valued hard work and humility. Something a lot of people just don't understand.
